Founded in 1967, the Montreux Jazz Festival has established itself as one of the most prestigious annual musical events in the world. The extraordinary list of artists who have played there is drawn from across the musical spectrum and from around the world. Now, with the consent of the festival and artists, Eagle Vision in association with Experience Hendrix, is pleased to make this historic concert available for the very first time.
Ray Charles was one of the true pioneers of soul music. He played the Montreux Jazz Festival on a number of occasions but probably his finest concert there was this one from 1997. Supported by his orchestra, under the direction of Al Jackson, and of course the wonderful Raelettes, he delivers magical performances of many of his popular tracks including "Shadows Of My Mind", "Georgia On My Mind", "What'd I Say" and "I Can't Stop Loving You". As ever, Ray Charles is the definition of Soul.
